MANILA    Two years after the last competition, the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) is proud to announce that The Boomerang Awards, the nation’s premiere digital honors, are making their triumphant return! With digital adoption and penetration at an all-time high, this year’s Booms will be open to practitioners of any industry to recognize the very best in digital marketing communications.

Adding to the traditional Campaign Effectiveness awards, this year’s edition features an entirely new group of Tech Innovation categories that will greatly expand the scope of the competition while opening up the Booms to new entrants. Furthermore, IMMAP will be introducing two new awards for overall campaigns: the Purple Boomerang and the Blue Impact Boomerang.

In line with ongoing efforts to promote gender equality, IMMAP, in cooperation with the Australian government’s Investing in Women initiative, will be awarding the inaugural Purple Boomerang to campaigns that go beyond stereotypical depictions of women in society. In support of this drive, the inaugural Purple Boomerang category will be offered FREE OF CHARGE for all entries.

At the same time, in association with Facebook, the first-ever Blue Impact Boomerang will go to the campaigns or executions that prioritized a “people-first” approach to their execution, with emphasis on innovation and overall impact.

Since 2008, the Boomerang Awards have set the standard for Philippine Digital practice. In 2021, with “transformation” in the rear-view, and digital having penetrated every aspect of how the world works, lives, and plays, the time has come once again for the Booms to once again raise the bar.

For those looking to submit their entries, there’s still time to join the Booms – late submissions will be accepted until August 13, with applicable fees applied. Winners will be announced at the Boomerang Awards Night on October 15, after closing festivities at the annual IMMAP Digital Congress (Digicon Pop 2021).

To download the entry kit or for more information, register at boomerang.immap.com.ph

Deadline for submission of entries is on July 31, 2021. Late submissions will be accepted until August 13, 2021, with applicable fees. All submissions should have run between May 1, 2019 and April 30, 2021.
