Manila, Philippines—December 1, 2014 – Teleperformance, the world’s leading provider of outsourced customer experience management services, recently fulfilled its commitment to build new homes for 100 families at the Teleperformance Gawad Kalinga Village in Tanay, Rizal.
Leaders and employees of Teleperformance Philippines, led by Managing Director Travis Coates, participated in the completion of thirty (30) new homes for the program beneficiaries, bringing the total number of houses in the village to 100.
The Teleperformance volunteers worked hand-in-hand with the families in painting the homes and in assembling bunk beds and dining tables that were later turned over to the new homeowners. Likewise, the Teleperformance employees spent time caring for the children in the community through story-telling, feeding activities, and distribution of donations that include clothes, footwear, toys, and other personal items.
Launched in 2010, the Teleperformance Gawad Kalinga Village is the flagship corporate social responsibility initiative of the company. It was established to benefit the families who were displaced by Typhoon Ondoy in 2009. Since then, thousands of Teleperformance employees have helped construct the village through cash donations and volunteer hours. The village is now complete with various amenities including a day-care center, multi-purpose hall, fully-furnished computer learning center, library and recreational playground for children.
Furthermore, Teleperformance Philippines remains involved in the sustainable development of the village to support the residents through skills and development training, as well as health and nutrition projects and regular tree planting activities.
Seeing the positive transformation in the village, Travis Coates said, “We are truly grateful for Teleperformance Philippines employees who have selflessly devoted their time, effort and resources to help complete our Village. Today, we have not only helped build sturdy homes for the families in Tanay, but more importantly, we were able to show true meaning of community—a community that is built through cooperation, camaraderie and true volunteerism.”
