December 17, 2020

2020 has been an unusual and challenging year for most people. However, when we have reached this far and are still alive, healthy and eating 3 times a day,  there is just so much we have to be thankful for.

Recent data shows that the hunger incidence has risen threefold since the outbreak of the pandemic, from 8.8% in December 2019 to 30.7% in September 2020. For details, you may visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7R22r7GTCs&t=1s or https://www.facebook.com/wia.philippines/posts/186346663191902

Through liaison with the Communications Team of Walang Iwanan Alliance, here is a concrete way to channel our generosity and gratefulness.

Walang Iwanan Alliance is a consortium of allies (donors and partners on-the-ground) that seeks to mitigate the growing hunger problem in the country. For more information, visit their website at walangiwananalliance.com  or their FB page  facebook.com/wia.philippines

There are 3 ways by which you can contribute:

  • Opportunity #1 – Get the Paskong Walang Iwanan e-Card.
  • Opportunity #2 – Donate your Globe Rewards points to WIA.
  • Opportunity #3 – Be an Ally by advocating the cause online.
    • Start your own hunger-fighting initiative.  Create relevant content.  Post it online and tag Walang Iwanan Alliance on Facebook.  Use the hashtag #HungerNoMore.
    • Or simply like and follow facebook.com/wia.philippines or share the posts with your friends!

The true meaning of Christmas is not in how many gifts we have received and given but in what we have shared of ourselves to be a blessing to others!

Wishing everyone a meaningful season!
