The Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) recently announced that it is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the Advertising Board of the Philippines (ADBOARD).

“The advertising industry and the society we serve has changed and evolved significantly in the years since the ADBOARD was established. We must evolve with these changes to remain effective in our advocacy for our consumers and our stewardship of our brands. As a founding member of the ADBOARD, we acknowledge a great responsibility to lead a process of reinvention to remain relevant and progressive. To lead this process, we must start with our own introspection and transformation. In our reflection and after much consideration, PANA needs to step back from the ADBOARD itself to afford us the perspective to be more bold and audacious in defining our vision for the industry and our industry association partnerships.” shared by Ms. Margot Torres, PANA President.

PANA gave the assurance that it will continue to engage member organizations of the ADBOARD to promote mutual interests and will respect existing agreements. Furthermore, PANA will continue to champion self-regulation and its mission of truth in advertising and responsible marketing.
